"I give you thanks!" is a piece dedicated to my mother, and it expresses my gratitude towards my mother through all the stages of my life.

At the beginning, the initial sounds resemble the possible sounds that we have heard before we are born inside the womb. Then, the spoken words are the different ways to call a mother: Mom, Mommy, Mother. The motive sung by the soprano at the beginning is the voice of mom humming to the unborn baby that later will be heard when it is repeated as a motivic response acknowledging Moms presence and lessons through life. The text, expresses, in simple words, the gratitude towards a mother.
